How it all started

Exactly a year ago today, my sister got married. The pandemic situation added quite some organisational challenges... To kind of cheer her up, my mom asked me to make a « typical American movie » kind of cake. 🎂👰🏻‍♀️💍

Never thought it would take so long to make a cake! I ended up at 3am, still adding edible pearls and sugar butterflies one by one... and absolutely loved it! 💫

This cake is definitely not perfect, there’s no coating, no crumb-coat, no smoothing, (sorry to all cake designers, I now know how terrible this sounds) but it’s full of love, passion and patience. This cake was made for the most wonderful person I know, and made me fell in love with cake design, and especially themed cakes that are now keeping me busy for whole nights and weekends. 🧁
